India: Innovative products to be showcased in Berlin

At the upcoming Fruit Logistica fair, the Indian company Sam Agri, pioneers in the marketing of fresh pomegranate arils, will be showcasing its newest products and formats: the 60 gram and 80 gram cups of pomegranate arils, the pomegranate juice shots and the chocolate-coated arils. 

According to Priyatham V, CEO of Sam Agri Group, these new cups are a highly convenient format, since they make it possible to consume the product on the go. “They fit, for example, in the cup holder of your car, and furthermore, they offer more branding space and they also stand out on the shelf.” As for the 60 ml pomegranate juice shots, he explains that essentially this is one pomegranate in a shot, and when consumed on an empty stomach or as a snack between meals, it is very good for the health because it has a lot of antioxidants. It is targeted at those who want an everyday health fix in a jiffy. 

Sam Agri will also be presenting the fresh figs and the coconut chunks during the fair.

The other product in its line of new developments is the pomegranate arils coated with dark, Swiss chocolate, developed in collaboration with their Swiss partner, Marcel Bangerter from Zoe-Ray. “For production, we take the fresh pomegranate aril and we dry it  and then they are coated with dark Swiss chocolate, which is again good for the heart,” says GVK Naidu(GVK), Managing Director of Sam Agri.

These new launches are all a reflection of the company’s philosophy, which is strongly focused on innovation, since they believe that health-oriented customers are always on the lookout for new products, and this applies even to supermarkets which are looking for some new ideas. He said that markets like the UK, the Netherlands & Switzerland are always looking for new healthy products. "We want to focus on healthy super foods, hence why pomegranate, a highly nutritious fruit, has become one of the firm’s focal points. And our key strength is to supply this fresh & healthy product all year round, 365 days of year from India," concludes Priyatham.
